Department of Cultural Affairs - City of Los Angeles

DCA promotes arts and culture as a way to ignite a powerful dialogue, engage LA’s residents and visitors, and ensure LA’s varied cultures are recognized, acknowledged, and experienced. The COLA Fellowship Program  honors an assortment of Los Angeles’ best contemporary artists.


The Jim Henson Foundation

The Jim Henson Foundation was founded in 1982 by Muppets creator Jim Henson to promote and develop the art of puppetry in the United States. Each year the Foundation introduces thousands of adults and families to the magic of puppet theater through grant-making and public awareness efforts.

 


imagesThe Center for Cultural Innovation promotes knowledge sharing, networking and financial independence for individual artists and creative entrepreneurs by providing business training, grants, and incubating innovative projects that create new program knowledge, tools and practices for artists in the field.

 


 

dfThe Durfee Foundation is a family foundation that seeks to adhere to the values of their founders, Dorothy Durfee Avery and R. Stanton Avery, by rewarding individual initiative and leadership. The majority of their grantmaking focuses on the Los Angeles region, where the foundation’s history lies, and where funding needs are great.

The mission of the The National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center is to encourage puppet artists to create and communicate through the visual and kinetic form of the puppet, to push beyond their personal boundaries, and develop new works for puppet theater.

 


 

The Anna Sosenko Assist TrustThe Anna Sosenko Assist Trust enhances the career development of worthy and talented individuals in need of assistance in the performance areas of theatre, opera or concert.  Sosenko  was a songwriter who achieved great popularity in the 1930s.  She is best known as the manager, writer, and companion of Hildegarde, who she worked with for twenty years  before the two broke up.


REDCAT

The Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT) is an interdisciplinary contemporary arts center for innovative visual, performing and media arts located in downtown Los Angeles inside the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex. Each season REDCAT presents a far-reaching roster of work by globally renowned artists, inside one of the most versatile and technologically advanced presentation spaces in the world.
